VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)Three pitchers, only three hits allowed, zero runs, and eight straight victories by the Warren Central High School baseball team after shutting out Germantown 2-0 on Tuesday. The Vikings used Justin Greer, Nathaniel Moore, and Tristan Jamison to pitch their way to a win.

“It was a great baseball game and we’ve been talking all year about the pitchers doing their jobs,” WC Head Coach Randy Broome said. “I’m very proud of them and we’ve been playing a talented schedule and sometimes it takes some rough roads to figure things out but this group is starting to get it.”

WC started the game with Greer pitching. In three innings, he struck out four batters and allowed zero runs.

The Vikings earned both of their runs in the second inning. After a hit by Jamison, a bunt by Trace Hood, and a sacrifice from Blake Caruthers, Jacob Kealhofer smashed a 2-run double to put the score at 2-0 where it would remain for the rest of the game.

Moore came in second to pitch and allowed zero runs and zero hits while striking out two batters. Jamison put the game away as he threw the final two innings where he struck out one batter.

Caden Cole and Ryan Steed also nailed hits before the end of the game. Kealhofer finished the night with one major hit that led to two RBIs which sealed the win.

The Vikings are now 11-8 on the year and they remain undefeated in district play with a 4-0 record. WC will host Northwest Rankin on Saturday.
