“I feel good about it because it’s a big opportunity. It’s helping me come out of my shell and learn how to be a leader,” Jackson said. “I’m expecting big things, and I want us to be united as one.”

Jackson began dancing at the age of three and later joined the Gatorettes at Vicksburg Junior High. Since her freshman year, she has been a member of the Gator Girls, building many memories along the way.

“My favorite parts are the workouts and probably the field shows because everyone gets to see your talents,” she added.

At VHS, Jackson is also involved in Student Council, Student Ambassador, Key Club, and the National Technical Honor Society.

As Co-Captain, her responsibilities include reviewing field shows, helping ensure the team stays on point, preparing for parades, and more.

Diamond is the daughter of Johnnjalynn Walker and Derrick Jackson.

Kaitlyn Davis

After serving as Co-Captain last season, Davis has been promoted to Head Captain—a role she has long worked toward.

“Becoming a captain is definitely a dream come true,” Davis said. “I’ve worked hard for it and put in a lot of dedication to being a Gator Girl. I’ve been waiting on this moment since my freshman year.”

Davis began dancing at the age of five with Debra Franco School of Dance. In eighth grade, she became captain of the Gatorettes under the direction of her mother, Monica Williams, who is now also her high school coach.

She continued to rise through the ranks at VHS, earning leadership roles and accolades. One of her favorite Gator Girl memories was performing during the Vicksburg vs. Warren Central rivalry game. Now, she looks forward to creating new memories with her mom as coach once again.

“My new favorite memory is when my mom became my coach because she was my coach in junior high,” Davis said. “This will be very eventful.”

Davis has twice received the Most Dedicated Award and last year was honored with the Sportsmanship Award. As Head Captain, she’s focused on maintaining a strong sisterhood within the team, supporting her co-captain, and being a dependable leader.

A student at River City Early College, Davis is active in Student Council, the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa, and Mu Alpha Theta. She has also been named to both the Dean’s List and President’s List. After graduation, she plans to attend either LSU or Alabama State University.

Kaitlyn is the daughter of Arthur Davis and Monica Williams (Geno Williams).
